They will, however, be something in my apartment that I don't want anymore... maybe a book or a CD or a vase with a cheetah design on it that my mom gave me a long time ago that I simply do not use.* Your boobie prize is to stay wrapped and under the tree until Christmas morning, at which point you may open it. I'm decluttering my apartment, so it's either you or goodwill, and to be honest, this seemed more fun.

God, I totally feel like Oprah right now.

(And honestly, would you rather win a trip to Australia or an Ally McBeal CD?** Because I have one of those and someone's going to get it.)

New Justin Timberlake Song 'Take You Down' Leaks

New Justin Timberlake Song 'Take You Down' Leaks

Club-ready tune was reportedly produced by the Neptunes.
By James Dinh

Justin Timberlake has said over and over again that he's not ready to record a new album. Nonetheless, that hasn't stopped the pop star-turned-actor from hitting the studio for collaborations with other artists and doing some recording here and there for himself. His latest musical serving to appease his hungry fans is a track called "Take You Down," which leaked online Thursday (December 30).

Timberlake opens the drum-heavy track with a summon to all the girls, before a female vocalist echoes the matching line with a series of stuttering "uh-oh's." The song, reportedly produced by the Neptunes, finds JT luring, tempting and somewhat challenging his female interest.

"I've seen my magic/ What's your looks and your religion?/ And I want you to understand that I can make you feel better/ So it's me and you, my place, sexiness all day/ I'mma do whatever you like, if you cater to me all night, girl," he sings during the second verse.

In addition to production credits, various Internet blogs have reported that "Take You Down" may in fact be a demo as opposed to one of the 29-year-old's own songs.

Timberlake recently spoke to the Los Angeles Times about fans who feel like the star has neglected his musical calling. "They're looking at me like, 'Why aren't you staying with one path?' " he said. "They look at me like I'm ungrateful for my music career because I want to do film."

Until JT feels ready to hit the studio to record the follow-up to 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, fans will have to make do with the singer's scarce musical ventures. His next offering may be a collaboration with Drake, who recently revealed, "I've always wanted to work with him, and it's in the works right now: Me and Justin Timberlake will probably have a song soon."

As fellow Cash Money affiliates Lil Wayne, B.G., Juvenile, Mack Maine and Baby made their way into the Fifth African Baptist Church in New Orleans on Thursday morning (December 30), hundreds of fans gathered outside the church to pay tribute to fallen hometown rapper Magnolia Shorty.

In addition to Weezy and his crew, a number of other local bounce artists made their presence felt at the funeral, including Partners-N-Crime, Kilo G, DJ Jubilee, Big Freeda and Ms. Tee, who was the first female artist to sign with Cash Money, followed by Shorty in 1995, who was the label's second, and last, female member.

The closed funeral began at 11 a.m., and while more than 1,000 friends and relatives packed into the brick house of worship, the street outside was overflowing with nearly 1,500 fans paying tribute to the bounce legend. Many were wearing shirts in praise of Shorty (born Renetta Lowe), 28, with messages such as "R.I.P. Magnolia Shorty" and "We Love You Renetta," as well as buttons that read "Forever 'Shorty.' "

Wayne, Birdman and Mack Maine tweeted their condolences in the wake of Shorty's murder last week, but on Thursday, it was former Cash Money rapper and Hot Boyz member B.G. who remembered his fallen comrade after the funeral.

"Magnolia Shorty was like a sister to me and it ain't just what she meant to me; it's what she meant to Louisiana, it's what she meant to New Orleans," B.G. told MTV News, noting that he was the one who brought Shorty into the Cash Money fold when she was just 12 years old. "She was the queen of bounce. She was someone you loved to be around. She was the best at what she do. I'm really speechless right now, but it ain't sunk in yet. ... She owned this city, but she was this close to ownin' the world."

The program for the service featured a photo of Shorty under the headline "A Homegoing Celebration for a Phenomenal Queen." Shorty was gunned down last Monday alongside an unidentified man in a vehicle that crashed near a New Orleans East housing complex. Her murder came seven years after the November 2003 killing of another New Orleans rapper, James "Soulja Slim" Tapp, whose original stage name was Magnolia Slim and who grew up with Shorty in the Magnolia housing projects and gave her the Magnolia Shorty stage name.

The funeral was to be followed by a traditional New Orleans second line celebration in which her casket was be paraded down the street accompanied by musicians, friends, family and supporters.

Share your memories of Magnolia Shorty in the comments.

Jeff Bridges Heaps Praise On 'True Grit' Co-Star Hailee Steinfeld

Jeff Bridges Heaps Praise On 'True Grit' Co-Star Hailee Steinfeld

Bridges calls the 14-year-old actress' performance 'remarkable.'
By Terri Schwartz

With the Coen brothers' "True Grit" making its way into theaters this week, all eyes likely will be turning to newcomer Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the film's young leading lady, Mattie Ross. In her first major role, the 14-year-old actress ultimately has to carry the first portion of the movie, and her performance has been garnering some serious buzz during this awards season. When MTV News caught up with Steinfeld's co-star Jeff Bridges while he was promoting "True Grit," he said he was impressed by the intensity of her performance while they were filming on set.

"What a tough, challenging role for a seasoned actor. All that dialogue, kind of tricky way of speaking. Thirteen-year-old girl, never been in a movie, and she comes up with that performance," Bridges gushed. "Isn't that remarkable?"

Steinfeld found herself surrounded by a full cast and crew of cinema veterans. The Coen brothers won an Oscar for directing 2008's "No Country for Old Men" and have been nominated two other times, Bridges took home a Best Actor Oscar for his role in last year's "Crazy Heart," and Matt Damon and Josh Brolin both have received Academy Award nods in acting categories in the past. But Bridges said Steinfeld didn't need any acting tips from himself or any of the other castmembers.

"I might have slipped out a tip once or twice, and I always regret when I would do that. It's almost like a reflex action — you can't help but put yourself into the other actor's position sometimes," he explained. "I always appreciate a tip from some guy, one of the other players, but no, I let her run free. The brothers directed her beautifully."

With all the buzz Steinfeld has been getting for her "True Grit" performance, she now is one of the main actresses being looked at to play another strong female character: Katniss Everdeen in "The Hunger Games." When Steinfeld spoke with MTV recently while promoting "True Grit," she said it "would definitely be an honor" to even be considered for the Katniss role.

"I didn't even realize that people were mentioning my name," she said. "It's every actor's dream to be recognized for something that they love to do, and to get recognized for that is pretty amazing. I thank the people out there who think that."

Check out everything we've got on "True Grit."

UFC 124 Predictions

UFC 124 Predictions

Saturday is going to provide one of those fight cards that will not, for a change, have a heavyweight bot as the main event. The fight card in question?

That would be UFC 124, which will take place on Saturday, December 11 from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada at 10 PM Eastern/7 PM Pacific.

Of course, featured as the main event of the evening will be Josh Koscheck taking on Georges St. Pierre in a fight that should have title implications.

Yours truly will take a stab and predict the winners of the 11 fights on the card, with a brief analysis and who I expect to win their bout. With that out of the way, in the words of Mike Goldberg, “Here-we-go!!”:

Pat Audinwood vs. John Makdessi: Interesting matchup here as Makdessi is making his UFC debut while Audinwood is an Octagon vet. Audinwood has the edge on cardio, having never scored a knockout and his bouts lasting longer than most fighters of the same length of service. Audinwood will win if he can outlast or submit Makdessi. On the flip side, Makdessi is a far superior striker, which could bode well for him as we don’t know what kind of chin Audinwood has. Winner: Makdessi by TKO, 2nd Round

T.J. Grant vs. Ricardo Almeida: Predicting this bout is like deciding on flank steak vs. cubed steak for dinner. Neither fighter has any appreciable striking power, so look for the fight to go to the mat, with whoever establish guard first and maintains it probably will pull out the decision. Suffice it to say, this will probably be one of the most boring bouts on the card. Winner: Almeida by unanimous decision

Joe Doerksen vs. Dan Miller: This fight will be very similar to the Grant-Almeida tilt as this will be a mat battle. A hunch tells me that Miller will be the one who establishes position on the ground and make Doerksen pay, as a result. Winner: Miller by submission, late-1st Round

Matt Riddle vs. Sean Pierson: This one should end early. Riddle doesn’t stand out in any one area except for his cardio, which means nothing if you’re getting your clocked cleaned. Meanwhile, Pierson is fighting in front of a hometown crowd like GSP, so he has that going for him along with superior striking abilities. If he can use it, then a TKO is in the offing for Pierson. Winner: Pierson by TKO, late-1st Round.

Jesse Bongfeldt vs. Rafael Natal: Two newbies who obviously want to make a name for themselves. Bongfeldt is making his UFC debut, having fought in Canada for some time while Natal is making his PPV premiere. Bongfeldt is a puncher while Natal is more a submission specialist; look for Natal to establish ground control while I expect Bongfeldt to make a few rookie mistakes along the way. Winner: Natal by unanimous decision

Mark Bocek vs. Dustin Hazelett: Two submission specialists – pure and simple – which depending on your point of view, can make for either an exciting or boring fight. This one will go to the mat and whoever estalbishes position on the ground first should earn the victory. Winner: Bocek by submission, mid-2nd Round

Thiago Alves vs. John Howard: Alves has been battling issues both in and out of the ring. We all know that he has battled not making weight along with losing his last two bouts. Having said that, Alves is the better striker than Howard. Howard, in order to win, will need to take the fight to the mat because he has no business geting into a boxing match with Alves. Winner: Howard by unanimous decision

Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig: Both fighters are in a must-win situation here as Stevenson has lost 4 of his last seven fights while Danzig has lost 4 of his last five. What Stevenson has going for him is the better ground game and his submision skills, all of which he will need to secure the win. Danzig’s wrestling ability will have to be top-notch along with his speed if he expects to remain in the UFC. One thing is for certain here: the loser of this bout gets their walking papers. Winner: Stevenson by submission, late-1st Round

Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira: Once again, a submission vs. power bout; this bout, in my estimation, will end early as Miller, despite his good submission skills and ground game, is simply no match for the fist of Oliveira. There is a reason why Oliveira is 14-0 coming into Saturday. This could very well be the TKO of the Night. Winner: Oliveira by TKO, early-2nd Round

Stefan Struve vs. Sean McCorkle: Here is the problem I have with this fight. Struve with his height advantage, couldn’t overwhelm Roy Nelson. Freakin’ Roy Nelson! McCorkle is undefeated and should be able to dismantle Struve. After all, he hurt Mark Hunt – badly. Look for this one to end early as McCorkle submits Struve and the Swede’s career in the UFC all of a sudden is in jeopardy of ending. Winner: McCorkle by submsission, early-2nd Round

Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck: This will be the Fight of the Night as the winner of this fight is going to need to maintain some ground control. St. Pierre is well-rounded, both on the mat and striking while Koscheck uses his strength to push folks around. Whoever loses their composure loses this one. A chess match if ever I saw one. Winner: St. Pierre by unanimous decision

Do you agree? Disagree? Let Octagon Buzz know which fighters will win Saturday at UFC 124.

Lydia Hearst Shaw Distances Herself From Lindsay Lohan Satire

Lydia Hearst Shaw Distances Herself From Lindsay Lohan Satire

'I am not officially signed onto any other projects,' model tweets following reports that she will star in 'Dogs in Pocketbooks.'
By Terri Schwartz

Lydia Hearst Shaw is doing her best to separate herself from the controversy building around the upcoming film "Dogs in Pocketbooks." Screenwriter Charles Casillo announced Monday that he had hired Hearst Shaw as the lead in his satire on the life of Lindsay Lohan (and, apparently, other starlets). But after Lohan's mother Dina lashed out and threatened to sue over the project, Shaw took to her Twitter to clarify that she is not involved in the film.

"Just so we are all clear.. My hair is Red because I am the new face of Schwarzkopf color. I am a model. I dyed my hair to front the campaign," she tweeted. "As for any theatrical roles I am currently filming Two Jacks directed by Bernard Rose. My next project is Catwalk by Tony Hickox.. Thank you all for your messages of encouragement during my transition to acting. I truly love and appreciate it. At this time I am not officially signed onto any other projects."

The role Shaw would have played was that of a "bratty movie goddess in and out of rehab, in trouble with the law, and hounded by greedy agents, predatory paparazzi, off-the-wall stalkers and crazed media." Though Casillo had originally compared the character to Lohan by saying it was "in no way mean-spirited toward Lindsay," he retracted his statement Tuesday (December 28) and said the comparison was "totally blown out of proportion." Instead, the character is allegedly an amalgamation of Lohan, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe and Jean Harlow.

When announcing he had chosen Hearst Shaw as the lead, Casillo said, "She's one of the few supermodels who can actually act. She's smart, well-read, charming and very beautiful. We looked at a lot of actresses for this role, and I was really knocked out." But now it looks like he will have to go back to some of those other actresses for his leading lady and see if any of them are still interested.

Dina Lohan threatened to take legal action against the project, like she did E-Trade, and when TMZ spoke with Lohan family lawyer Stephanie Ovadia, she said the family has a "very strong case."

"They are again using [Lindsay's] likeness without her being compensated," Ovadia said. "Not only that, but they are advertising the fact they are using her likeness. Anyone bringing negativity will be dealt with accordingly."

Stephen Dorff Says Filming 'Somewhere' Was 'Pretty Extreme'

Stephen Dorff Says Filming 'Somewhere' Was 'Pretty Extreme'

'It's the most naked part you could ever play,' Dorff says of his role in the Sofia Coppola-directed film.
By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Stephen Dorff
Photo: MTV News

For many moviegoers familiar with his work, Stephen Dorff is most recognized for playing dark, destructive and evil characters la Deacon Frost in "Blade" — the role for which he took home an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain. His new movie "Somewhere," written and directed by Sofia Coppola, is a complete departure from much of his previous work, a role that required Dorff to step into new territories of both filmmaking and acting.

"This one was pretty extreme because [Coppola] wanted to experience some real-time acting on film," Dorff told MTV News of Coppola, whose unique directorial style involved getting lingering shots of his character just staring off in the distance or literally doing nothing. "So if I smoke a cigarette, that might be one line in the script but in the movie it might be five minutes, so it's very authentic," he added.

Dorff said the role of Johnny Marco, a disenchanted movie star and absent father to 11-year-old Cleo (played by Elle Fanning), was the most challenging of his career thus far.

"It's the most naked part you could ever play, really, because there's no plot driving the emotion," he said. "There's no explosions, nobody dying to trigger an emotional breakdown, there's no bank robbery. This is a film that's based on almost a portrait of a guy we open with, and we find the monotony in his life. Then when Elle comes into play, Cleo, it becomes really this movie about an adolescent father who needs a change in his life or he's headed for disaster."

Dorff described Marco as broken, lost, confused and bored with his life, until his daughter comes along and he starts to realize how spending time with her, actually being a father, makes him happy.

"While he's been going through that, he's missed probably three years of crucial time with his daughter and the fog starts to lift throughout the film," he explained. "He starts to see this beautiful girl and starts to get his act together."

"Somewhere" began a limited run in theaters on Wednesday.

Eminem, Jay-Z's Leaked Track 'Syllables' Was Recorded In 2007

Cashis, who is also featured on the cut, reveals the song was meant for one of Em's albums or Dr. Dre's forthcoming Detox.

Heads were scratched when a dated, top-notch collaboration between some of hip-hop's biggest MCs, including Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Stat Quo, surfaced in the blogosphere yesterday. And while deliberate (and unintentional) leaks happen all the time, it was odd that nobody had ever heard of the all-star cut titled "Syllables." However, Cashis, another one of the track's featured rappers, gave fans some insight into the track in an interview with Vibe.com, admitting his excitement as a then-newly-signed artist to collaborate alongside rap icons.

"I laid my part at Dre's studio with Stat, 50 and Em," Cashis recalls of the track, which talks of the industry's lack of lyrical substance and its reliance on gimmicks. "I heard that Jay had just left when I got there. Fif' was there kicking his verse in another room when I did mine."

But the MC, who had just been signed to Shady Records at the time, confessed that he wasn't nervous to spit alongside the hip-hop heavyweights. "I was more so excited than intimidated because I already had held my own with Em, and I think they believed in me this time. After I kicked my verse, Em, Dre and 50 all said it was dope. That was the cosign I needed. I learned more from that session than any other before that."

While Cashis isn't sure whether the "Syllables" leak was authorized by his label or not, the Slim Shady protg says that the version that hit the Internet is different "and even better" than the one originally recorded in 2007. The tune was set to be featured on one of Eminem's LPs or Dr. Dre's highly anticipated Detox.

However, the rapper, who released his County Hound EP that same year, reveals that he's remained patient and hardworking while waiting for Eminem to sort through his personal trials in recent years.

"I ain't never left. My position is good over at Shady," the MC says. "Em pulled me to the side when he was coming back and told me the plan. He was going to get himself going again and then put me out. It got to a point where Em didn't want to rap anymore. But I told him to take as long as you want to take. For him to get inspired again is a blessing."
