Cars covered with anime can be spotted all over Tokyo, but what's curious is their name 'itasha.' It literally means 'painful cars.'

Itasha comes from combining the Japanese words for Italy (Ita) and car (sha) at a time in the 1980s when Italian imports were expensive.
