Whenever I download anything from the internet, I have a security application to make sure there are no worms, viruses, spyware or malware. That’s what I do on my laptop. Now that I have a LG Optimus V android cell phone and am downloading applications on a regular basis, I was a bit concerned that those types of issues exist for cell phones too. If not now, then later. Anyways, it automatically scans all of your downloads & blocks any potential threats
To be on the safe side, I downloaded this security app called Lookout Mobile Security. It does what it needs to do but also has another feature that helps you locate your phone in case you lose it. That part is an upgrade but you don’t need to buy it until you lose your phone, but you must have the program installed before you lose it. Makes sense.
- Block malware and spyware
- Download apps without worry
- Scan every app before installation to make sure it is safe
- Runs silently in the background, schedule regular scans
- Save a copy of your contacts
- Access your data over the air on Lookout’s website
- Restore your data to an existing phone
- Pinpoint your phone’s location on a map
- Activate a loud alarm to find it nearby, even if it is on silent
