Rousimar Palhares has signed a new four-fight deal with the UFC and the middleweight jiu jitsu specialist is looking to avenge his September knockout at the hands of Nate Marquardt, which halted “Toquinho’s” three-fight win streak.
“We’ve signed a new contract for Toquinho today, he’ll fight four more times,”Palhares’ coach Murilo Bustamante recently told Tatame. “He”s very motivated, he know that he let the victory escape (against Marquardt), he made a mistake, but these things happen in life, but he’s crazy to fight Nate again. He wants this fight pretty bad and he’s … training every day as if he had a fight scheduled.”
After dropping a decision to Dan Henderson in 2008, Palhares reeled off three-straight wins over Jeremy Horn, Lucio Linhares, and Tomasz Drwal before falling to Marquardt in the main event of September’s UFC Fight Night 22.
